Central Railway concedes demand, CRMS revokes stir
CENTRAL Railway Mazdoor Sangh (CRMS) secured a victory after its major demand regarding manning of Chhindwara-Amla-Chhindwara train by staff of Nagpur Division. Bowing to hunger strike undertaken by CRMS backed Running Staff, the divisional administration rushed to fulfill the commitment made last time to CRMS. From Monday onwards. South East Central Railway has agreed to easure that crew link of Chhindwara-Amla-Chhindwara passenger would be given to Central Railway.
The cadre of CRMS at Nagpur Division was on hunger strike for 48 hours beginning 8 am of May 7. They were pressing for implementation of undertaking given in January this year regarding bringing back Assistant Loco Pilots diverted to other divisions and crew link of two trains currently with SECR. Nagpur Division. As the divisional officers failed to fulfill the demands by March 31. CRMS undertook the hunger strike to attract attention of divisional administration.
Vinod Chaturvedi. Divisional Secretary, CRMS. said (here was no logic in allotting crew link of Chhindwara-Amla passenger since that train did not had any run in SECR's jurisdiction. Also the problem of spare crew at Chhindwara too was solved with daily run of Patalkot Express. Hence he said DRM O P Singh personally intervened and talked to SF.CR and ensured that the crew link is now given to Central Railway staff. As to other major demand of ALPs. Chaturvedi said this loo is being pursued by DRM at Headquarters level and it will also be resolved soon. He thanked the cadre for participating in the agitation. Chaturvedi also made a point that CRMS does 001 undertake agitation to save anybody involved in irregularity but it's actions are always in best interest of staff and railways.
