Government put Civil Services Board in abeyance


MAHARASHTRA Government has stayed its own decision to form civil service hoard to regulate transfers, posting of government staffers, officers and to enforce delay in discharge of official duties regulation. The decision to constitute hoards was taken on January hut looking to sharp reactions from ministers who were unhappy over this new structure, the General Administration department has stayed the GR dated January 31.
The hoards were expected to finalise transfer and postings of Group A and B officers to competent authority and was headed by Additional Chief Secretary level officer. Besides. Principal Secretary or Secreiary of concerned department, head of the department and joint secretary level officer were roped in to decide senice mailers. For nongazzetted staffers the regional head was to head sen ice board while his deputy, establishment officer and one subordinate officer were included as members.
As per original scheme, the department was expected lo submit proposal of transfer and posting before the concerned service board and only after approval from Minister in-charge of particular department, the transfer or posting orders of gazzetted officers will be issued. However. be Democratic Front government was not very keen on these boards as most of the ministers were unhappy with functioning of these boards.
