Shiv Sena retains bastions, adds one more to its kitty
MODI wave has literally swept all the seats in Vidarbha. The Shiv Sena has also gained immensely from Modi wave in the region. The party has succeeded in increasing its tally in Vidarbha by winning all the four Lok Sahha seats it contested in this election. Shiv Sena, which has strong base in Western Vidarbha. has bagged one seat in Eastern Vidarbha too. The party retained Buldana. Yavalinal-Washim. and Amravati seats while it snatched Ramtek from Congress.
After sad demise of Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray, and clear division in the party created by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray, the political pundits were claiming that Shiv Sena had lost its ground but under the leadership of Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray, the party has regained its glory.
The party got 20.9 per cent votes at State level. The party received 99,99.227 voles on all 21 seats. The BJP received 27.1 per cent votes in the state on 25 seats and its voting share is 1,29.85.024.
During last election in 2009. the party won three seats in western Vidarbha by slender margin but in this election, the party secured maximum voles and defeated Congress-NCP alliance in its bastion.
In Ranuek. Shiv Sena's Krupal Tumane won the election by margin of 1.75,791 votes. He defeated for mer Union Minister and AICC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik. Tumane secured 5,19,892 votes while Wasnik got 3.49.566 votes in the election. During last election. Tumane had received 2,94,913 votes while Wasnik had received 3.11,614. Wasnik won the last election by difference of 16,701 votes.
In Amravati, Shiv Sena candidate Anandrao Adsul secured 4.67,212 votes in current election. Adsul defeated NCP candidate Navneet Kaur Rana by huge margin of 1.37,932 votes. She bagged only 3,29,280 votes in the election.
