OCW under fire for charging money for tankers in 24x7 zone
ADOPTING aggressive stance against Orange City Water (OCW) for levying charges from consumers who are getting water from tanker in network area. Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporators on Tuesday demanded stern action against OCW. The corporators were quite combative during the general body meeting of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and lashed out at OCW and NMC ruling alliance for overlooking die alleged misdeeds by private contractor.
Pacifying the agitated corporators, Mayor Anil Sole directed Municipal Commissioner Shyam Wardhane to probe the mailer and lake stern action against all concern guilty officers and OCW. Mayor made it clear that OCW can not charge money from residents of demo zone for supplying water through tanker. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator Pragati Patil unearthed a big scam of Orange City Water (OCW) of charging Rs 1.000 for supplying water through tankers from the consumers
