Seminar on 'Technological Trends in Aerospace Power' held

 

A JOINT seminar was organised by Maintenance Command with 'Centre for Air Power Studies  (CAPSI)  at
Headquarters Maintenance Command. Indian Air Force, Vayusena Nagar. The theme of the seminar was Technological Trends in Aerospace Powers. The seminar was inaugurated by Air Marshal P Kanakaraj. Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief. Maintenance Command. Air Marshal P Kanakaraj expressed the role of economics of war in any future conflict and stresed on the essential requirement of cost effectiveness of launching a mission. Me further highlighted the various initiatives of maintenance command like velocity increase in maintenance by way of intermediate overhauls and upgrades, introduction of progressive opportunity servicing, part processing in collaboration with private industry, utilisation of Ecnabled provisioning and procurement of spares and many other such enablers to enhance the intrinsic capability of Indian Air Force.
Administrative Staff Officer (SAASO). Air Vice Marshal J V Singh. Air Officer Logistics Management (AOLM). Air Vice Marshal Sanjay Sharma. Deputy Senior Maintenance Star Officer and other senior officers of Headquarters Maintenance Command and various major units under it across the country attended the seminar. Air Marshal Vinod Patney (Retd). Director General of CAPS. Air Vice Marshal M Baliaduri Retd). Distinguished Fellow of CAPS. G p Capt B Bose, Senior Fellow of CAPS and Dr Manprect Sethi. Senior Fellow of CASP were also present during the seminar. Air Marshal Vinod Patney (Retd).  Director General of CAPS addressed in inaugural session. The first session of the seminar inainlv focused on securily environment around India in which nuclear and missile development in Pakistan and China. Space weapons implications for India and Technology on Futuristic weapons were discussed. Second session was on Techno Logistics Challenges, Capital Procurement Process DPP 2013, Weapon Platform availahility in Budget constraint and Part tasking of Maintenance activities to Civil Industry.
Air Marshal Sukhchain Singh. SMSO. HQ MC. IAF delivered die valedictory address at the end of the seminar. In his address the Air Marshal expressed his delighi on the opportunity of hosting and co-organising this power packed seminar on "Technological Trends in Aerospace Power". Sukhchain Singh stressed that the rapid absorption of 'Technological Trends' in enhancing aerospace power is today an imperative for enhancing national security and as an aerospace power, as a Nation. we cannot afford to be left behind while technological [rends rapidly evolve. Conviction that we could not have had a more apt synergy than coming together of CAPS and maintenance command in organising this seminar on 'Technological Trends in Aerospace Powers, added Sukhehain Singh. On behalf of AOC-in-C. Maintenance Command, the Air Marshal concluded by placing on record deep appreciation to Centre for Air Power Studies lead by Air Marshal Vinod Patncy (Retd) their DG for their professionalism and contributions to the process of shaping policies for national security and wished the Centre for Air Power Studies. Maintenance Command and Indian Air Force continued collaboration in the coming times.
