DF Government releases Rs 86 crore for hailstorm-affected farmers
DEMOCRATIC From (DF) Government has released an aid of Rs 86 crore more Tor die farmers affected by hailstorm in March in Nagpur district, said Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh.
The hailstorm had damaged crop on 1.06.000 hectares in Nagpur district. To provide relief to farmers, an aid of Rs IS6 crore was sought from the Government. Of this, an aid of Rs 66.70 crore was released and distributed. On May 13. orders regarding release of Rs 86 crore more were issued. "The hanks have been directed through district administration, not to deduct loan or oilier amount from the compensation being deposited into the farmers' accounts." he added.
Meanwhile. Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar stated in a press release issued on Wednesday that the administration had received Rs 100 crore from die Government so far. as aid to affected farmers. Of this. Rs 95 crore has been distributed. Now. additional Rs 86 crore also has been received and it will be distributed to farmers soon, the release staled.
