Panel formed for buffer in Navegaon-Nagzira Reserve
AN EXPERTS' committee has been formed under the presidentship of Addl Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife). East. Nagpur. for crcaling buffer zone for Navcgaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve situated in Gondia district. This fourth tiger reserve in Vidarbha was announced by the government on December 12. 2013. after including forest areas in Navegaon National Park. Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary. Navegaon. New Nagzira and Koka wildlife sanctuaries.
Following are the members of the committee: General Manager, Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra. Field Directors of Pench. Tadoba-Andhari. Melghai Tiger Reserves. Chief Conservator of Forest (Territory), Nagpur. Deputy Conservators of Forest. Bhandara and Gondia. Honorary Wildlife Wardens from Bhandara and Gondia. Dilip Code of Vidarbha Nature Conservation Society. Nagpur. Kishor Rilhe of Satpuda Foundation. Pratul Bhamburkar of Wildlife Trust of India. Nagpur. and Dr Bhuskute of Botany Department, Bhavbhuti Mahavidyalaya. Amgaon in Gondia district and Conservator of Forest. Gondia.
The buffer zone is being created after considering provisions in Wildlife Protection Act. 1972 and Forest Rights Act. 2006, informed Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife). Maharashtra on Monday.
