Agriculture Deptt gearing up for smooth supply of seed, fertilisers
DISTRICT Agriculture Officer Hindurao Chavan. while addressing a press conference at the Colleciorate here the other day. informed that the Agriculture Department will ensure supply of seeds and fertilisers in the coming Kharip season 10 all the farmers in the district. In order to check malpractices, the Department has formed different squads at different levels, it was informed.
Al (he district and tehsil levels, the District Agriculture Officer and Taluka Agriculture Officers will supervise the work of smooth supply of seeds and fertilisers to the farmers at the lime of sowing in the Kharip season. The squads formed have the powers to raid in case any complaints are received against the stockicsis. Farmers have been advised to lake the hills after taking deliveries of seeds and fertilisers from the dealers.
Officers ai the district and tehsil level have also been included in the flying squads to deal with the complaints received by the department, it was informed.

As sowing operations will begin soon in the Kharip season, the department has made call necessary arrangements for supply of good quality of seeds and fertilisers to the farmers. Only after full satisfaction, the farmers should purchase seeds and fertilisers from the dealers verifying all necessary instructions on the packets and retain the bills for future use. If the dealers charge more money than the printed price on the packets, it should be brought to the notice of the department . Agriculture Officer Chavan told.It was also informed that the flying squads can visit the dealerss shops for inspection and it will he binding on them to produce the records required by the members of squads. In case no records are produced for inspection, the dealers licenses can be cancelled or suspended. Fven the criminal offences can be registered against the erring dealers for flouting the directives issued by the department, it was informed.
