CONSISTENT rise in mercury since last few days has Marled showing its effeet on water storage in Amravati Division and the available storage in all hig reservoir?, has started Do decrease day by day. At the the end of the month of April, irrigation projects in the division has 40 percent water storage of total capacity. After Nagpur. Amravati Division is on second place in the state in total available storage in hig reservoirs while all other divisions in the State arc lagging behind.
According to figures provided by Irrigation Department, unto April 28. all 379 projects had 1176 million cubic meter (mem) water storage. Division has nine big irrigation projects which include one in Amravati. three in Yavatmal. lour in Buldana and one in Akola. Nine big projects have 628 mem water which is 46 percent of total capacity. Upper Wardha project of Amravati district which is biggest in the nine projects has 235 mem water storage which is 42 percent
