KKA demands to clear financial mess in Distt Central Coop Bank
THE district unit of Kisan Adhikar Abhiyan(KAA) has demanded Maharashtra Chief Minister to take immediate action to solve the financial mess in District Central Co-operative Bank(DCCB) and to return the depositors' money, in a memorandum submitted here the other day.
In the memorandum, it is stated that there has been huge financial irregularity of 2.40.225 depositors of DCCB of total amount of over Rs 334 crore from two to three years as Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the permission of functioning of DCCB due to mismanagement. Moreover, the members of the board of Directors also resigned from their posts. Presently. a management board nominated by Government is handling the management. Considering the woes of the depositors. State Government should deposit Rs. 100 crore with DCCB to re-avail the permission for the functioning of the bank and should speed-up the recovery of the loan defaulters the memorandum stated.
The delegation also demanded that the property of members of then board of directors and management should be seized as they are the U responsible for the present mess of DCCB. The members of KAA also recollected that they discussed DCCB matter with the Chief Minister during last Winter Aassembly Session and am memorandum was also
given. KAA has also warned that they will meet the Chief Minister accompanied by MLAs on May 16 if their demands are not fulfilled. Government will face a mass agitation after 28th May if it fails to do the positive move in this regards. Earlier, under the leadership of Sudham Pawar. district president of KAA and Avinash Kakade. the district convenor, the delegates discussed the matter with Thakur. District Deputy Registrar.
