THE Central Board of Secondar Education (CBSF.) has decided lo give students of Class IX second chance lo appear in Summative Assessment (SAl I it the) mitt the same on the grounds of illness.
It would he mandator)' for the students lo appear in both Summaitve Assessments in both Classes IX and X. In case of non-appearance in Summaitve Assessments on grounds of illness, one more chance lo appear in SA I may he given up to October 31 in Class IX. For SA 2 in Class IX the chance for improvment of performance be allowed as circulated, within a period of one month from the date of declaration of result.
Sludent would have lo obtain at Icasi 25 per cent marks in the Summaiive Assessments (both the SA I and SA 2 taken together) to be eligible to qualify the examination at least IS marks out of 60 marks and total 33 per cent in each of the five subjects of scholastic area.
CBSF has made it clear that it has come to the notice of the Board this being the first year of implementation a number of students and par-ents were either not aware of the rule or the students could not cope with even after the improvement examination conducted by the schools in April. Therefore, it has been decided that one more chance be given to the candidates of Class IX of 2013-I4ses-skm for improvement of performance.CBSE has requested iis schools thai the candidates who failed to obtain 25 per cent marks i.e. 15 marks oui of 60 in the Summative Assessments even after the chance of improvement of performance be given one more chance and the assessment be conducted by July this year.
