3-day Buddha Mahotsav from tomorrow
THREE-DAY long Buddha Mahotsav has been organised by Mahabodhi Foundation at Sanskrulik Bhavan from May 11 10 13.
Drawing competition on the theme 'Buddhist' and Competitive examination based on the life of Dr Babasaheb Ambcdkar has been organised at 9 am on May 11 at Smt Kesharbai Lahoti College and also at all tehsil places in the district. Rangoli competition based on Buddha Dhamma idols, symbols as well as painting exhibition of Bali Khaire. renowned painter, has been organised here at the Art Gallery of Sam Dnyaneshwar Sanskrulik Bhavan ai 9 am on May 12.
The formal inauguration of the Buddha Mahotsav will take place at 5 pm on May 12 at the hands of Saiish Khandare. DIG from Mumbai. D R Bansod. Amravati Divisional Commissioner, will chair the inaugural programme while Bhante Dhammapal. Pravin ThaKare. Sun-Divisional Officer. Chandrashekhar Khandare. Chief Auditor of Amravati Zilla Parishad. DM Shingade. Joint Directorof Technical Education. Suresh Bagade. Tchsildar. Amravati and Anil Bhatkar will be the guests of honour of the programme.
Dr Parmanand. Convenor of Indian Caves Conservation Committee. Mumhai will screen the documentary on An Analysis of hisiory of Buddhist caves' ai 6 pm. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Arts Award will be presented to Premanand Gajbhiye. renowned stage artist from Mumbai while Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Journalism award will be given to Dilip Edatkar. 'Dhammadiksha'. drama based on the novel of Buddha and his Dhamma has been organised at 6.30 pm. Prize distribution ceremony of the competitive examination based on the life of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. drawing competition and Rangolt competition will take place at 5 p.m. on May 13.
