Storm in ZP meeting over apathy towards schools
GENERAL body meeting of Nagpur Zilla Parishad (ZP) on Friday turned out to be stormy with opposition members slamming ZP administration and ruling alliance over over faulty appointment of teachers, alleged negligence of doctors in rural hospitals, black marketing of Soyabean seeds and water scarcity in the district.
After stormy discussion during the meeting. ZP president Sandhya Gotmare directed Chief Executive Offier (CEO) Shivajirao Jondhale to take stern action against erring officials.
Zilla Parishad member Nanda Narnawre informed that commerce teachers are teaching biology subject in school at Nand village since 2009 as education department of ZP have failed to appoint science teachers in the school.
Another member Shivkumar Yadav said that maximum number of Marathi language teachers are appointed at Hindi medium school at Tekadi village. Chief Executive Offier Jondhale assured that Hindi teachers would be appointed at the school very soon.
Vice-president Chandrashekhar Chikhale, Committee chairperson Varsha Dhopte. Durgawati Sariyam. Nanda Lohbhare, Vandana Pal. Deputy Chief Executive Offier Kamalkishor Futane and others were present in the meeting.
Zilla Parishad member Manohar Kumbhare raised issue of black marketing of soyabean seeds in the meeting.
Chief Executive Offier Jondhale assured the house that he had directed agriculture officer to take stern action.
Zilla Parishad has formed special flying squads to initiate action against black marketing of seeds.
Upasrao Bhute alleged that nutritious diet workers arc not getting salaries since 2013.
According to him, despite receipt of salary grants from the government, the salary bills arc not being processed.
Till December, salaries are paid and for remaining period, the grant was received at the fag end of the March and the process to release salaries to these workers is on, informed Zilla Parishad officials.
