Women's Committee asks sexual assault victims to report crime, seek justice
IN THE backdrop of recent rape incident of an engineering student in the city. Amravati District Women Counseling Committee has now appealed girls and women, who have been a victim of sexual assaults. 10 come forward with courage to seek justice and help administration in punishing the culprits. Meanwhile, city police have formed four special squads under women sub inspectors, especially for protection of women. A meeting of Amravati District Women Counseling committee was held at Amravati Collectorate on Thursday in which issues of sexual atrocities againsl women and children were discussed. Apart from that. the Committee expressed serious concern over the rape incident on National Highway. Committee members expressed need for co-ordination between police, health department , women and child development department and counselors to handle rape case and support victim in minimum lime.
