Manikgarh rly station sans approach lane
MANIKGARH railway station which caters to a large number of commuters from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh state has no approach lane to the station premises. Commuters have to climb an overbridge having 50 steps and get down another 50 steps to enter the main railway complex, ticketing and reservation counter. This causes great hardship to the elderly and sick commuters. Travellers with luggage also get fagged out getting to the platform.
This inconvenience is mainly caused because of the four rail tracks in front of the main station complex where there are always rakes of goods trains standing which does not enable commuters to pass and there is no other approach road so the travellers have to climb the over bridge.Very often people are seen crossing the cracks from under the stationed goods train bogies where by risking their lives to reach the platform. No safety measures are adhered to for passenger safety by the railway authorities. There is no parking facility also for the vehicles at the station. Citizen of Rajura and nearby villages frequently travel from this station towards Andhra Pradesh and have to undergo the hardships meted out to them by the railways.South Central Railways has started a computerized reservation counter but lo reach there it is a difficult task climbing the over bridge. For Tatkal reservation there is an extremely unique method followed. At the booking counter one can always finds a bunch of forms with a stone over them. There is standing in the queue.
