Leopard rescued from well at Januna village
A TWO-YEAR-OLD leopard that fell in a well was rescued by Wildlife and Forest Department personnel. The incident occurred at Januna village in Barshitakli taluka adjacent to forest of Patur.
As per report received here a farmer. KiranBoley. of the Januna village went to his field on Monday morning. When he got down in the well 10 start electric pump to fetch water he saw a leopard sitting in a corner there. He immediately came out of the well and reported the sighting of leopard to the villagers. Later, the matter was reported to Forest Department and police at Barshitakli.
The Forest Department officials and wild life officers rushed to the spot and started rescue operation in the afternoon 10 lift the leopard from the well. Help of Sam Gadgebaba Disaster Relief Team of Pinjar was also sought but all efforts to rescue the leopard were proved unsuccessful.
Rescue operation yielded success when trees in the well were cut and a passage was created to enable the leopard to come out of the danger place.
