Govt nod to Pentakali-hit villages' rehab
THE question of rehabilitation of villages of Pandhardev. Ghamnod. Manmod and Devdari affected by Pentakali Project and Utrada, which too has suffered due to the project, has finally been answered. Thanks to the constant efforts of M LA Rahul Bondre. necessary orders for rehabilitation was given by Rehabiliation Minister Patangrao Kadam, during an meeting held at the Mantralaya. The Minister also directed officials to acquire land wherever necessary for rehabilitation of these villages. These villages affected by Pcntakali Medium Project that is situated on Painganga river, were left without rehabilitation for some technical reasons. The problems of these affected villages took gigantic proportions with each passing year.
At Pandhardev. only 54 houses in the old goan than area were deemed fit for rehabilitation. The new gaon than area houses were not included for rehabilitation. However, during floods these houses too bore the brunt. Rahul Bondre presented their problems to officials concerned however citing technical problems, they expressed their inability to add the remaining homes too in the list of rehabilitation beneficiaries.
Bondre. then brought the issue to the notice of the Minister, who directed the officials to make a special provision for these houses.
As a special measure. Minister sanctioned rehabilitation of these houses too. The Minister also directed officials to acquire land for rehabilitation of Ghanmod and Manmod villages.
Utrada village, situated on the hanks of Painganga. too faced severe problems during floods. It lost connection with the outside world and life became very difficult. A proposal for its rehabilitation was pending since 2008 but was pending. Boiklre also brought to the notice of the Minister, the problems of this village and urged him to give sanction to its rehabilitation. The Minister also sanctioned its rehabilitation as special case. Devdari village too, situated on the banks of Pentakli, had 50 percent affected area and its rehabilitation too got administrative sanction. The minister also directed officials to start acquiring land for rehabilitation of these villages.
During the meeting, organised at the behest of Bondre for solution to problems of these villages, Patki. Additional Secretary, Chitman Joshi. Additional Deputy District Collector and other officials were present on the occasion.
