Congress, SS win in MC, ZP by-elections
CONGRESS came out victorious in the Municipal Council (MC) by-pol Is held on Sunday while Shi v Sena registered a win in the Zilla Parishad (ZP) by-election.
Voting was held for one seat in Prabhag 3 of Yavatmal MC. The seat lay vacant after the demise of councillor Vaijayama Ugalmugale. After counting of votes on Monday. Congress party's Usha Pravin Diwate emerged the winner with 2.070 votes. She was followed by Madhuri Nakahie of BJP who got 1.669 votes. Also. Voting was also done for the post of Zilla Parishad member from Loni Jawala in Ami taluka. The seat fell vacant after the sudden death of Congress' Pratap Rathod. After the counting process was completed in Ami Tehsii Office on Monday. Shiv Sena's Pravin Shinde emerged winner. He beat Congress parly's Ajit Rathod by 2.022 votes.
