VRAS to stage dharna in front of Vidarbha MPs' residence
PRESSING for the demand of separate statehood to Vidarbha. Vidarbha Rajya Andolan Samiti (VRAS) has decided to stage dharna before the residences of Members of Parliament (MPs).
The agitation aimed at making all the Vidarbha MPs to raise the issue of separate statehood to Vidarbha during the session of the Parliament and to compel the Government to fulfill the assurances it had given during the campaigning for Lok Sabha election few months ago.
The dharna agitation has been organised in Chandrapur on August 2 between 11 am to 4 pm in front of the residence of Hansraj Ahir, MP. and the office bearers of VRAS appealed to the citizens to remain largely present during the dharna.
The demand for separate Vidarbha has been consistently pursued before the newly formed Union Government.
As part of its drive. it was declared by the committee at the Jantar Mantar. New Delhi, on July 24 that the agitation for the demand will be intensified with dharna before the residences of the MPs.
Vidarbha has been constantly exploited since independence of the country and presently there is no option but to give the status of separate statehood to Vidarbha. Therefore, all the MPs belonging to Vidarbha should press for the demand at Parliament Session, the Committee demanded. The agitation will be launched under the leadership of Adv Wamanrao Chatap, former MLA while Kishor Potanwar. Prabhakar Dive. Anand Angalwar, Arun Nawale. Prabhakar Dhawas, Narendra Kakdc. Anil Thakurwar. RameshNale. Bhauji Kannake. Datta Mane. Nilkanth Korange. Chairman of Zilla Parishad. Bhimrao Pusam. Member of Zilla Parishad. Bandu Kodape. Ramcsh Puri. Avinash Musale, Prahlad Pa war. Tukesh Wanode. Rakesh Thakre. Vivek Mandate. Kawadu Yenpreddiwar. Mangesh Potdar. Abaji Dhawas. Vinod Barsinge. Sindhu Barsinge. Panehayat Samiti Member. Poumima Niranjane. Sharda Dahulc. Adv Sharad Karekar. Sudhir Satpute. Nago Bahade. Omdeo Mohurle, Bandu Manusmare, Pundalik Wadhai. Anant Yerne. Kapit Idde will also be prominently present during the agitation.
