Fearing drought-like situation, aid sought for farmers

BHARAT Krushak Samaj has demanded Immediate financial help to needy farmers in the wake of droughi like situation in the region. In a memorandum sent 10 Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Bharat Krushak Samaj Chairman Prakash Mankarhas pointed out that the farmers have suffered a lot due to lack of rains this year. The Samaj has demanded early relief to the farmers. Prakash Mankar has also asked the government to declare farmer as 'Rashtriya Sewak' and to start salary to them. He said the farmers should be paid as he works for the society. It has been brought out in the memorandum that the packages announced by the government time and again don no benefit the needy farmers. Hence. as a permanant source of income farmers need to be paid monthly salary. The memoradum has been signed by Dr Ramesh Thakare, Prashant Choudhary, Vasantrao Mahajan. Jagatrao Patil. Sheshrao Patil Chikhalikar, Govind Patil and Rameshwar Mali.
