CP issues guidelines for Ganesh Mandals
AMRAVATI Commissioner of Police has made ii compulsory for Ganesh Mandals to provide names of Mandal activists who will collect donations for the Ganesh festivals. Police commissionerate gave several instructioas to Ganesh Mandals in the meeting of activists held at on Wednesday.
Ganesh festival begins from on August 29 and Ganesh Mandals have already started preparations for the arrival of Shri Ganesha. As a part of maintaining law and order in the city during Ganesh festival. Amravati police had called a meeting of officer bearers of Ganesh Mandals.
Speaking on the occasion. Dr Suresh Mekala said that Ganesh idol should not be more than eight feet height. The pendal of idol should have have more than three feet height. idols should be covered properly to maintain the sanctity, no to create any disputed floats and scenes at the Mandals and permissions required should be taken from police and Charity Commissioner.
Those who will be found extracting money in the name of donations. will have to face action. Names of activists collecting donations should be submitted at respective police stations. Vehicles participated in the processions should gel checked from Regional Transport department and their certificate should be submitted to police and certificate of Construction department of Amravati Municipal Corporation about safety of stage should also be taken, instructed Dr Mekala.
S B Meshram of Women and Child Welfare department, informed about the competition organised for Ganesh festivals. Department has organised competition on female foeticide, domestic violence and all round development of children and Mandals will have to prepare scenes on these three topics. Winner of the competition will be given prize of Rs 21,000 thousand and trophy, runner up Mandal will be given prize of Rs 11.000 while the third prize winner be given prize of Rs 8.000.
Speaking on the occasion. Ganesh Mandal activists demanded for the immediately repairing forbad roads in the city which may lead to accidents during the processions. Deputy Commissioner Gawrane. Somnatli Gharge and office bearers of different Ganesh Mandals were present at the meeting.
