Raj Thackeray not to contest polls in State
MAHARASHTRA Navnirman Sena MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday said that he would not BOD-est upcoming polls in the Slate. Recently he was in the news when he said that he would be the Chief Ministerial candidate of his party. 3ut today he made it clear that he vould not he contesting the Assembly elections.
Raj Thackeray was in city to interview party aspirants from Eastern vidarbha. When asked whether he would contest the polls as was announced earlier by him. he said. "I am a pan of tradition of my family where nobody contested the elections from my grandfather, then Balasaheh everybody stayed away. The one reason behind it we considered Maharashtra as our constituency. We can not limit ourselves to one constituency. If I contest the election, then that only he my constituency. The very idea of owning one constituency can not be swallowed."
It may be recalled thai had Raj contested the polls he could have been the first member of Thackeray family to do so.
When he was asked on how many seats MNS would contest. Raj said that M NS may contest on 40-45 seats and win on majority seats. It may be mentioned that MNS, which
