Man gets 7-yr jail for raping minor

DISTRICT and Sessions Couri awarded seven years' imprisonment lo a 32-year-old man and Rs 500 fine for raping minor her recently.

As per details. Umesh Tulshiram Koine (32). resident of Valti (Bu). taluka Nandura. was not in good terms with his wife.

Finally, she look away her two children and went to her mother's place. Meanhile, his 14-year-old niece used to come to cook food for her uncle (Umesh) and grandparents.

One day he raped her and threatened her to kill if she informed any-one about it. The girl kept mum and he continued raping her.

Later, she informed her parents when she was four months" pregnant. She alongwith her parents immediately lodged a complaint with against Umesh with Pimpalgaon Raja police station. Police registered an offence against him under sections 376. 506 of IPC. The chargesheet was filed in the District and Sessions Court here.

Total nine witnesses including the victim and doctor were cross examined. M M Agrawal. Judge, held Umesh guilty and awarded him seven years' imprisonment and Rs 500 fine. Public Prosecutor Adv Rajeshwari Alshi defended the victim. Since bail was not granted to Umesh, he has been in the jail afer his arrest. Meanwhile, the court did not grant permission to the victim for abortion. She delivered the baby who has been sent to orphanage in Buldana.
