Declare Buldana drought-hit, demands Shiv Sena

                                                                                    

DISTRICT Shiv Sena look a mor-cha on the Collectorate to pursue demand of declaring drought in Buldana district and including Buldana taluka in the list of talukas affected by water scarcity.

The inadequate rainfall in the district delayed the sowing in the district. Soyabean seeds, too. were unavailable forcing fanner to buy seeds that were not recognized. As seeds failed lo germinate, farmers saw the entire kharif season passing without any hope. Though the administration had informed farmers about the non-availability of seeds in the month of April and May and had also asked them to sow home grown seeds, the farmers, by then, had sold their seeds. They were left with no option but to buy their already sold soyabean from traders and a much higher price and use it as seeds. With no rains the entire crop got lost.

The Shiv Sena is demanding to declare drought in entire Buldana district and to declare scarcity in Buldana taluka. Party's other demands include extending lime limit for payment of installments for crop insurance, starting schemes to combat water shortage, starting fodder depots, waiving entire loan of farmers and also waiving their pending electricity bills, distributing below poverty line cards etc. The morcha started from Jijamata Sports Complex and after passing from Sangamb Square. Jaislhambh Square, Bazar Line.Karanaja  Square.
