Teenager killed as slab of pump house falls

structure allegedly became a criminals' den. Around 2 pm. Nilay. Kaustubh. Aniket Bahadure and two oftheir friends were allegedly smoking near the pump house building. Suddenly, the slab caved in. Nilay and Kaustubh were trapped under the debris while Aniket and two other boys escaped unhurt.

Aniket and two of his friends shouted for help. Railway Colony residents gathered and informed Fire Brigade. A team of about 20 rescuers led by Chief Fire Officer Rajendra Uchke rushed to the spot soon after receiving the information about the incident. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ajni Division) Mohan Thakur. senior Inspector L G Dumbre and staff of Ajni Police Station also arrived. After Anikel Bahadure and other residents informed Fire Brigade officers that Nilay and Kaustuhh were trapped under the debris, the rescue team pressed into service a JCB machine, cutters and other equipment to remove the rubble. After a hectic search, the Fire Brigade personnel succeeded in removing Kaustuhh alive. On seeing Kaustuhhss condition, they rushed him to Government Medical College & Hospital. When the rescue team pulled out Nilay from the debris, he was dead. Cops sent Nilay's body to the same hospital for postmorlem.

As news about Nilay's death spread, a pall of gloom descended on Savitribai Fule Nagar. His family members, relatives and residents of Savitribai Fule Nagar arrived at the spot where the tragedy occurred.

Nilay's boys was sent for autopsy at Government Medical College & Hospital. It is learnt that Kaustubh suffered multiple fractures. Ajni Police registered an accidental death case and started investigation.
