Teenager killed as slab of old pump house falls

A TEENAGE boy was killed and another injured seriously when the slab of an abandoned building of a pump house at Ajni Railway Colony Ajni. near Janmandal Primary School, collapsed on Friday afternoon. Three other boys, who were standing near the dilapidated structure of the pump house, had a providential escape when the slabfell on them

Fortunatly though, quick response by the rescue team of Nagpur Fire Brigade resulted in saving life of one of the two boys trapped under the debris.The deceased, Nilay Shyam Rangari (19) was a resident of Saviiribai Fule Nagar. Injured Kausluhh Dangre (17). a resident of Taj Nagar. has been admitted lo Government Medical College & Hospital.

According to information given by eye-witnesses, the Central Railway authorities had demolished the old residential quarters two years ago as they were in dilapidated condition. Potable water was supplied to the old quarters from the pump house earlier. The pump house building was abandoned but was not demolished by the railway authorities. As a   result.the
