Population control will help India prosper, says Tonge
THE population of India is on the fourth place in the world. In order to bring down the population, the Health Department has been guiding people through awareness programmes. If the citizens of India extend their invaluable contribution positively, the population growth will remain under control and every family will he able to enjoy happy life, said Rambhau Tonge. The District Health Department has organised a Population Stability Fortnight Programme throughout the district.
As a pan of the programme a function was organised at the Primary Health Center. Visapur in Ballarpur taluka in which the women going for family planning surgery after two girl children were felicitated. Rambhau Tonge was speaking on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion. Harish Gedam pointed out that everyone looks towards the boy child as the successor of the family and therefore the instances of female foeticide have been increased to a great deal and the availability of the gender checking sonography tests is the real culprit.
He also appreciated the women who had performed family planning surgery after two girl children. Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of" Savitribai Phule Kanya Yojna namely Sunila Mude and Gangula Malkar were felicitated by giving away the cheque of the prize given under the scheme and national saving certificate at the hands of the chief guests. Pinky Hazare. Madhuri Dhulkar. and Shalu Matthe were also felicitated with bouquet and gift for performing the surgery and setting ideal for other women.
Dr Kukadpawar informed about various schemes of the Health Department.
Dr Ashwini Bele delivered introductory remarks. Jyoti Gedam conducted the programme while Ramesh Meshram proposed a vole of thanks. Anganwadi activists. Asha workers, and employees of the Health Department were largely present on the occasion. Rajesh Waghmare. Rita Mirpagar. Gajbhiye. Waghmare. and Kama Moon took efforts for the successful organisation of the programme.
