Shiv Sena's grand morcha in Amravati for various demands
HUNDREDS of Shiv Sena activists led by MP Anand Adsul and MLA Abhij it Adsul took out a morcha up to Colleciorate here on Friday for raising various demands and to condemn Slate Government's negligence towards problems of the district.
Sena activists gathered near the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Irwin Square and then took out a morcha under the leadership of Adsul father-son duo. Activists raised slogans against the State Government. The agitators reached the Colleciorate by jumping over barricades. A delegation then presented a memorandum of demands to Kiran Gitte, who took charge as District Collector on Friday itself.
It has been staled in the memorandum that immediate help should be provided to farmers who have suffered losses due to wet-droughi. flood and delayed monsoon, flood hit people should be rehabilitated, immediate compensation should lie given to kin of farmers who committed suicide, compensation should be given for crop loss due to wet drought last year, Hood security walls should be constructed in villages that face constant threat of floods, avail payments of tur and gram crop purchased by NAFF.D from farmers in the district last year, health care should be improved in the district by making improvements in General Hospital, District Women Hospital etc. district should get GMC. branch of Central Government sponsered Women Bank should be sanctioned in Amravati like in Mumhai and Nagpur. proposal to .start AIIMS at Amravati should be forwarded etc. AnaniGudhe. former MP.
