SENSATION prevailed in the administrative circles of Gondia district after sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Dr Uttam Namdeo Narnaware (56). Deputy Commissioner. District Animal Husbandry, Gondia on Friday for taking a bribe of Rs 5.000 from a government scheme beneficiary.
As per details, the State Government has launched a scheme to help eligible beneficiaries start poultry business. The beneficiary has to invest 25 per cent of the money while the Government takes care of the remaining 75 per cent. The complainant's father had been selected for the scheme as per the list prepared by the Deputy Commissioner. District Animal Husbandry in November 18. 2013. He was sanctioned funds of Rs 1.68.750. Meanwhile, when the complainant had gone lo the office of Narnaware. Deputy Commissioner, District Animal Husbandry, in Gondia. the latter allegedly demanded Rs 10.000 - Rs 5.000 each for the amount released earlier and for second installment. The complaint had paid the sum.
On August 5. Narnaware contacted the complainant on phone and asked him to to come to his office on August 8 to avail the third installment of Rs 57,000 and allegedly also asked him to bring along Rs 5,000. However.
