PCR for three accused in Aarti Borkar murder case
JUDICIAL Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court on Sunday remanded three persons ~ arrested in connection with murder of Shiv Sena leader Aarti Borkar at Lalganj -to four days of police custody.
The court sent three accused namely Sonu Khare, Vicky Khare and Surendra Kesarwani to police custody till August 6.
Seeking seven days" police custody, police appealed court that they require remand for interrogation and seizure of weapons used in the crime.
It may be recalled that Aarti Anil Borkar(33). a resident of Panchpaoli and former Chief of Central Nagpur's Women's Wing of Shiv Sena was slabbed lo death by the accused.
According to a senior police officer, the murder was a contract killing and Kesarwani had paid Rs 4 lakh to eliminate her. He had given Rs 1 lakh advance and the balance payment was to be given after the job. Police said. Aarli Borkar and her supporters had launched a campaign against some members of Kesarwani family allegedly engaged in selling adulterated chilly powder, spices and 'chutney'.
The Kesarwani family's depot was sealed by the Food and Drug Administration authorities following a complaint by Aarli. Similarly. Aarli had also launched a successful campaign against kerosene mafia Ravi Khante and ensured action against him.
