NUTA members stage demonstrations
LECTURERS of Nagpur University Teachers' Association (NUTA) demonstrated and raised slogans against government in front of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar here for condemning the g government for not implementing the orders of Supreme Court and High Court regarding NET/SET qualification for lecturers.
Activists of NUTA were detained by police and later released. Meanwhile, the prominent lecturers'organisation has condemned the detaining of agitating lecturers and termed it as suppression policy of Slate Government.
Maharashtra Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations (MFUCTO)has decided to protest against State Government alleging that this government led by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Higher Education Minister Rajesh Tope, is not following the dozens of decisions of Supreme Court and high courts regarding the different issues of university teachers including one of NET/SET qualification. MFUCTO has demanded President of India to dismiss the Maharashtra Government using the rights given by Section 356.
To raise this demand, organisations have chalked out a plan to register protest against State Government.
According to this plan, members of MFUCTO will stage demonstrations at district headquarters in the state, whenever any Minister of Stale Government visit the place.
As a pan of that, member of NUT A on Monday demonstrated taking banners and raising slogans against State Government in front of Ajit Pawar at Sam Dnyancshwar Sanskritik Bhavan here. Amravati police detained activists of NUTA and released after some time.
