'Cong-NCP leaders discussing on alliance for Assembly polls'
"THE issue of Congress and NCP alliance was there during last Assembly elections also. Top leaders of both parties are discussing about contesting assembly elections together in Maharashtra. We arc hopeful about the outcome." said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
He was addressing a press conference here on Monday at Circuit House.
Pawar was in the city to attend the Nirdhar Melava of NCP activists. Addressing further on the occasion. Pawar said that inquiry has been started about the Hoods occured in Amravati district on July 27 due 10 release of water from Purna dam. "We have asked Secretary of Water Resources Department to conduct inquiry in the case. Reasons behind releasing water from Purna dam. conditions occured. who took the decision will be checked. After the report of the inquiry committee, decision and action on the issue would be taken." he said.
State Government will provide all kind of help to 1179 families in 60 villages of Amravati district. Till now. Rs 85.85 lakh have been distributed as the compensation to tlood affected families. Inspection of affected families, collapsed houses, affect-ed crops and lands will be done within next seven days. After that decision about compensation will be taken. Losses of Rs 100 crore are occured due to damage of public property and PWD has been asked to take action.
Many districts in Maharashtra are suffering from sowing and re-sowing. In different situations. State Government has changed the guidelines for providing help in the past. This time also, guidelines can be changed if needed. State Government has always stood behind farmers and
