B JP's Kashish Jaiswal is Gondia Civic Chief
THE outcome of election held for new Civic Chief and Vice-President of Gondia Municipal Council was as expected. BJP Shiv Sena alliance defeated Congress-NCP alliance with comfortable margin. Kashish Jaiswal and Harshpal Rangari were elected as the new President and Vice-President respectively.
In the special meeting convened to elect the President and Vice-President. BJP's Kashish Jaiswal's name was proposed by senior councillor Dinesh Dadriwal and was seconded by Rahul Yadav.
Congress' Rakesh Thakur's name was forwarded by former Civic Chief Deepak Nashine and Seema Bhalerao seconded it Out of 40 members surprisingly only 29 members remained present while4 NCP councillors and 2 independents supporting NCP remained absent along with BJP's Anil Pandey and Mahendra Ukey. Kashish Jaiswal polled 17 voles as against RakeshThakur's 11 voles. importantly NCP's senior councillor Ashok (Gappu) Gupta did noi vote forThakur. though he was present in the house. Jaiswal is only the second BJP President in the century old Gondia MC. prior to him Ashokrao Ingle was elected as
