Amravati police launch 'Mission JagrutV drive for college students
AMRAVATI City Police have launched a Mission Jagruti Drive for I he college students in the age group between 16 to 21 years old for creating awareness regarding traffic rules, cyber acts and crime, communal harmony and for anti-terrorist activities amongst them, informed Dr Sureshkumar Mekala. Commissioner of Police here in a press conference.
Addressing further Dr Mekala said that police will try to create maximum awareness amongst the people through students on these issues. The aim of the mission is to create awareness regarding right and responsibilities of people, creating awareness amongst the relatives, neighbours and friends of the registered students under the mission, to get information from student if they find anything suspicious, to ask help from students during festive seasons, for maintaining communal harmony, to help the accident affected people, reducing the crimes related lo the senior citizens, women and children and 10 help people during natural calamities.
Police already had oreanised work-shops in 15 colleges in the city and has shown slides and documentries regarding the crimes in traffic, cyber and terrorism. Police have formed about two minutes long documentaries for making the mission effective. Total 40 banners are displayed across the city to create awareness amongst the people and students regarding the mission. Documentaries will be shown in all cinema theaters as well as on local cable networks, informed Dr Mekala. Police also will distribute about 15000 phamplets for creating awareness amongst the citizens. Amravati City Police have formed a page name as Mission Jagruti on the website 'www.amravati city police.org' of Amravati City Police and college students with the age group between 16 to 21 years can register themselves on this page.
Students would have lo provide information regarding themselves and their college along with the identity cards of their respective colleges while registering, informed Dr Mekala.
According to the plan of city police, 10 Police Constables from 10 police stations under the jurisdiction of Amravati Police Commissioner ales have beenappointed as the Nodal Officers for maintaining co-ordination amongst the police, students and colleges. Students once enrolled under the mission will get identity card of Jagruti Club.
Dr Mekala has appealed to the students in the age group between 16 to 21 years to register themselves in large numbers under the mission and to create awareness amongst the people.
