WATER conservation and grassland development works taken up in Pencil Tiger Reserve. East, have provided much relief to wild animals, bringing down the rate of migration and crop damage.
As many as 105 earthen weirs have been constructed this year on nine major nullahs passing through the park. Last year. 46 weirs were constructed on different nullahs. Bhumagdev nullah has now become a perennial source of water when a spring struck during desilting and deepening work taken up at the nullah situated by the side of tar road near Salama village. Earthen weirs have been coastructed up to a distance of one km towards Bakhari lake, helping wild animals quench their hirst, especially during peak period of summer months.
