Vid Mendhpal Dhangar Vikas Manch launches Dera Agitation
THOUSANDS of Dhangar Community people participated Dera agitation called by Amravati District wing of VidarbhaMendhpal Dhangar Vikas Manch at District Collectorate here. The agitation was led by Santosh Mahatme. Former Deputy President of Amravati Zilla Parishad and also the Ex-District President of Nationalist Congress Party Youth Wing. The Dera agitation was called for their various demands along with to include the Dhangar community in reservation from Schedule Tribe quota.
Thousands of Dhangar Community people gathered here at Science Core Ground by taking bullock cans and sheeps. A morcha led by Santosh Mahatme. former Deputy President of Amravati Zilla Parishad, reached District Collectorate raising various slogans. Later, a delegation led by Santosh Mahatme. DrVasant Lawankarand Umesh Ghurde presented a memorandum to District Collector. Agitators have al leged that state government is not taking their demands seriously. Dhangar community is demanding government to include it in the ST category and give reservations accordingly.
Madhukar Pichad. Tribal Minister and Padmakar Walwi. Sports Minister of the state are deliberately creating dispute between tribal and Dhangar Communities and also are misguiding the State Government and ministry. Pichad and Walwi arc not aware about the injustice faced by Dhangars. alleged agitators.They demanded 10 include Dhangars in Schedule Tribes, to keep foresl reserve right lo give rights for grazing in forests and other things.
They threatend to make a stay at prominent places in the city along with sheeps if their demands would not be fulfilled.
