GBI inspects under-construction building in AG office premises
ANTI-CORRUPTION wing of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Tuesday has started examination of ongoing construction work of an auditorium of Accountant General (AG). Civil Lines, following a complaint about sub-standard work. A senior officer of Bureau informed 'The Hilavada'that a complaint was received by CBI stating massive wrong doing at the construction site.
Central Public Works Department (CPWD) had given tender of construction to company of Kaushik Chatierjcc. Rs 60 lakh was paid to the contractor out of tolal expenditure of Rs 1.5 crore, said sources. Team of Bureau arrived at the spot and collected samples of consiruclion work. Sources informed thai CBI officials also collected information and documents from CPWD officials.
CBI will register a case againsl the contractor and CPWD officials if the lab report are positive about substandard work. Superintendent of Police (CBI) Sandip Tamgadge supervised the action.
