ANGRY and agitated Congress party workers on Monday blamed party leadership for disconnect with common party workers. Members of Legislature, and Ministers. They alleged that leadership went faraway from the reach of common man. therefore, party got drubbing in recently held Lok Sabha elections. The workers demanded to give preference to new blood in the election and go alone in ensuing assembly elections. The party workers believed that Congress can repeat its performance of 1977-1978. when Vidarbha had given massive support to then Congress leader Indira Gandhi. The party workers expressed their views during Vidarbha level party workers convention held at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall on Monday and openly blamed the faux paus committed by leadership. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and Nagpur City/District Congress Committee had organised convention to seek opinion of party workers for ensuing Assembly elections. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, MPCC Chief Manikrao Thakre. AICC General Secrelary Mukul Wasnik. former MP Vilas Muttemwar. EGS Minister Dr. Nitin Raut. Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe. F.nvironmeni     Minister    Sanjay AICC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik said, party should mull all possibilities to form an alliance with NCP in the ensuing assembly elections. However, the party should be ready to contest all the seats, if NCP is not ready to form an alliance with Congress. Countering Modi's "Congress Mukt Bharat" slogan. Wasnik urged the parrymen to strive for "Modi free country."
Me also complained about lack of communication with Chief Minister. Minister and party workers including MLAs. He said, party never gave any post in organisation or in Government to common party workers, how party will grow in the state. He urged to give chance to new party workers in the ensuing assembly elections. The leadership should assure party workers to give justice if party is voted to power in the elections. He said that the new 10 percent voters have gone away from the Congress party. He suggested to organise booth level meetings on August 20 on birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi. Deolale, Deputy Speaker of Assembly Vasani Purke. Haribhau Rathod, Vijay Wadettiwar, Dinanath Padole. Adv. Yashomati Thakur and oth-ers were present on the dais.
The party workers were so angry that they did not allow many former and present MLAs to address the gathering. Former MLA Laxmanrao Tayade said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is misleading the country, only to get a rebuff from a party worker who insisled thai party must instrospect and speak about its own performance instead of blaming Modi. The party workers gave a lukewarm response to slogan of M LC Haribhau Rathod "Sonia Gandhi Zindabad." The party workers alleged that leadership never thinks off giving any board, corporation or even the post of special executive magistrate to them in last 15 years.
Sudhakar Gangane, Senior party leader, tried to convince party workers but they did not allow him to complete his speech. MLA Vijay Wadettiwar said. Modi cheated the people of country on issue of inflation and others. Shyam Umalkar said, party should lake decision of an alliance with NCP immediatley and declare pany candidates by August 15.
Adv. Yashomati Thakur said, the party has communication gap between Chief Minister. Ministers and MLAs. She still remember qualities of former Chief Minister late Vilasrao Deshmukh and said, party requires such a leader. She also suggested to increase reach in social media. MLA Rao Saheb Shckhawat said. NCP has started preparation for elections. Congress should also start district wise convention and prepare time-table and do it in a planned way.
