BJP observers to meet Nagpur aspirants on 5th
A TEAM of observers headed by Ashish Shelar, MLA and Mumbai City chief of Bharatiya Janata Party BJP Atul Bhatkhalkar, Maharashtra General Secretary, will meet party aspirants from Nagpur district on August 5 at Ravi Bhavan.
Nagpur district has 12 seats of Legislative Assembly including six in Nagpur city alone. Presently. BJP is contesting on nine seats in district and three are given to ally Shiv Sena.
The observers will meet the aspirants from 12 noon to 6 pm a( Ravi Bhavan. Meeting for the aspirants from Nagpur district has been organised between 12 noon and 3 pm. while that for aspirants from Nagpur city from 3 pm to 6 pm. Recently, the Core Committee of State BJP visited Nagpur to review political situation in Nagpur division.
BJP sources claimed that party's State chief Devendra Fadnavis only had claimed ticket from South-West Nagpur segment of Assembly, which he currently represents. No other party worker has demanded ticket from this Assembly segment. However. former Standing Committee chiefs Avinash Thakre and Sandip Joshi are claimants for this post. In alliance.
