32 people injured, 5 critically after Matador overturns
IN A ghastly mishap, as many as 32 persons were injured when the matador they were travelling in overturned at Shemha Mhasoha village in Buldana district on Thursday. Total five of the injured, including a woman and driver of the vehicle, sustained critical injuries and were shifted to Aurangabad.
As per details. 32 laboureres from Balsawangi village located on Vidarbha-Marathwada border were going to a farm in Anva village in a matador (MH-21/X-4363) owned by Ashok Bormale. This matador was followed by another matador (MH-21/2442) which was also carrying some farm labourers. When Bormaie's matador reached Shemba Mhasoba on BalsawangiParadh road, driver Fakira Sonone was noticed an errant two-wheeler rider coming from the opposite direction. In a bid to avoid a collision, he turned the vehicle but. in the event, the matador took 2-3 somersaults and fell below the road. Total four labourers and the driver sustained serious injuries in the incident while 27 others escaped with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the matador that was right behind came to the rescue of the injured and they were rushed to District General Hospital.
At the hospital, the doctors and other staff also hade a tough time handling so many accident victims at one time. Further, relatives of the injured also assembled in the hospital in good numbers. But the situation was handled ably by Resident Medical Officer Dr Ashok Hiwale. Dr Pankaj Shingane. Dr Qamar Khan. Dr Umesh Badar. Dr Pankaj Rathod. Dr Ravindra Chavan and others. Of the injured laboureres. driver Fakira Sononc. Krushna Kharat. Akash Wagh. SumanWagh and Ashas Bhagwat were shifted to Aurangabad as their condition was critical.
