Students told about contribution of Dr Radhakrishnan to education
TEACHERS Day programme was organised with great enthusiasm at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Navsari recently to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.
Dr S G Gavai. Principal of the school, inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp and also by performing ptijan of the portrait of Dr Radhakrushnan.
In his guest speech, Dr S G Gavai praised the work done by Dr Radhakrushnan and his contribution in field of education. He also informed about the importance of Teachers Day.
Manisha Dongre and Vaishnavi Raut, both students of the school, threw light on the life of Dr Radhakrushnan and also informed about the Guru-Shishya tradition in their respective speeches.
Students Manthan Deshmukh and Rumja Ardak. along with music teachers Shashikant Sangole and Rajendra Thakre presented Gum Mahima through songs. Students also presented roses to teachers to express love and respect towards them. Meanwhile, students from standard XII tried there ahnd with teaching as they took over the role of teachers and conducted classes for a day.
Also, live telecast of the speech and interaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was made for students in the schools. About 757 students look benefit of the live telecast.
Saket Tekadeand Prashik Ingole. NSS volunteers, conducted proceedings of the programme while Dharane proposed a vote of thanks. The programme concluded with singing Vande Mataram.
