BSP holding cards close to chest

RELEASING its second list of 13 candidates on Thursday, Bahjuan Sainaj Party (BSP) has predicted a hung Assembly. The party leadership is hopeful of getting big names as it held cards close to its chest in majority of 32 seats including majority of seats in city and district.

Party General Secretaries. Veersingh (In-chargc for Maharashtra unit) and Dr Suresh Mane said by Friday afternoon all names would be announced.

Addressing a press conference. Dr Mane said while they are reposing faith in party cadres they are not averse to nominating suitable leaders who crossover from other parties. The 26 names released so far. including 13 today, are not big shots unlike previous elections. BSP's rise in Maharashtra has been on strength of rebels from major parties. To a question. Dr Mane, said if electoral merit of rebel of other parlies is strong that the party would take a call on nominating the person.

The current breaking of two alliances is good sign for BSP and ihe Veersingh said it's clear that Maharashtra is heading for hung verdict. Dr Mane said they are eyeing 10 seats from Vidarbha and this time BSP is going 10 make a big splash.

"We have identified four to five core issues including backing for separate Vidarbha and party has also effected change in its strategies for opening account in Maharashtra Assembly." he said.

In the list released on Thursday BSP declared candidates for Khamgaon and Jalgaon Jamod in Buldana districts. Akot and Balapur in Akola district. Wasim (SO and Karanja Lad in Washim district. Amravati proper and Melghat in Amravati district. Deoli inWardha. Ramtek from Nagpur district. Rajura and Warora from Cliandrapur district and Yavatmal proper.

Krishna Bele. Vice-President. Maharashtra State unit, was also present at the press conference.
