Farmers of Warora obtain stay on road works: Damage to crops

TOTAL seven farmers of Warora have appraoched the Civil Court and obtained stay order on Warora-Madheli bypass road construction, which had been hurriedly inaugurated by Sanjay Deotale. Guardian Minister of Chandrapur. on January 26, before the model of code of conduct came into effect for Lok Sabha elections.
Warora-Madheli bypass road touching Wani and Waroa has been proposed to divert heavy traffic from outskirts of town. Land has to be acquired for said construction. However, acquisition process is pending before Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition). Chandrapur and inquiry under section 5-<A) of the Act is yet to be completed. Even spot inspection has not been done. Hence, land owners Kishor Par-khi. SamodharGowardipe. Manohar Kurekar. Gangadhar Katore. Vijaya Lohakare. Kusum Lakdeand Vasant Dhopate approached to the court and demanded stay order as construction of the bypass and its bhoomipujan was performed at the hands of Chandrapur Guardian Minister on January 26 last and commenced work the next day. Petitioners alleged  that the work at siaricd hastily lo gain political mileage ahaed of Parliamentary polls. Notably, standing cropsiniheir fields were damaged because of the work.
In the court of Civil Judge, (senior division) C L Deshpande a stay order was issued and the authorities were asked to restrain from interfering or obstructing into peaceful possession of the land.
It may be mentioned here that there are many others works which were inaugurated in Warora in a jiffy in January and February but Public Works Department failed to start the actual work, siting the reason of insufficient funds.
