Police almost crack missing cop's case


POLICE arc almost confirmed the identity of the person whose skull and bones were found here at Meghe Layout near to Kathora Naka on September 22 last. Since the forensic reports are not yet received, police have not declared the identity so far. As per police information, the human skull and bones mighr be of Omprakash Ardak who was a cop at Morshi Open Jail and has been missing since August 3.2013, The forensic report and supcrim-position technique report of the human skull and bones will confirm the identity.
It may be mentioned that the human skull and four bones were found at Meghe Layout near Kalhora naka on September 22. Gadgenagar Police had registered the case.
During investigation, police found a watch and a pair of chappal near the spot. Police immediately have checked the missing out reports undei the jurisdiction "I Police Commissionorate.
Cops then summoned the complainants for the identification of watch and chappal. Out of them one of the complainants Rahul Omprakash Ardak identified the watch and chappal of his missing father. According 10 Somnath Gharge. Deputy Commissioner of Police. Omprakash Ardak (54). resident of Vrundawan Colony. Shegaon Naka-Rahatgaon road, was a cop at Morshi Open Jail.
He was missing since August 3 last. His son had lodged the missing complaint of his father with Gadgenagar and Nandgaon Peth Police Station. Omrakash Ardak was allegedly mentally disturbed and was undergoing treatment of Dr Swapnil Shirbhaie. Somnath Gharge suspected that Ardak might have fallen down in the area near Meghe Layout. He must have died in the rains since the it was raining then.
No one had spotted his dead body as (he residential area is about 50 feet away from where the skull and bones were found. The area is surrounded by parihenium. Gharge informed thai Ihey have send the blood sample of Rahul, son of Omprakash Ardak along with ihe part of the skull for the DNA matching a) Nagpur Forensic Lib.
They would also try to match the photographs of Omprakash Ardak and the skull through superimpo technique.
As per Gharge. they were sure that the dead body belonged to Omprakash Ardak bui would get confirmed only after the DNA and superimposition technique reports.
