Extend proposed Metro Rail upto Kamptee: Bawankule
KAMPTEE MLA Chandrashekhar Bawankule has demanded to extend the proposed Nagpur Metro Rail upto Kamptee to facilitate the coinminers who travel daily from Kamptee to Nagpur and Butibori. The proposed Metro Rail has its last stop at Automotive Square -just 6 km from Kamptee.
Bawankule. in a memorandum submitted to Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Railways Minister Sadanand Gowda, has appealed the administrative body to make arrangements to extend the facilitv upto Kamptee and consiruci the last station of Metro Rail at Kanipiee.
According to him, if extended, the service will be major link between Kamptee and Butibori. two industrial areas near I he Orange City.
The route will benefit not only two lakh residents of Kamptee but also lakhs of commuters who travel between Kamptee and Butibori. Notably, thousands of students, professionals, and common people travel on Kamptee-Nagpur-Butibori-Hingna route on daily basis.
'Start Mono Rail from Koradi': Bawankule has also demanded that proposed Mono Rail project should join Koradi to Nagpur and Bcsa Bellarodi. Koradi has two major [hernial power stations and a major pilgrimage - Mahalxmi Mandir. The destinahon of religious importance has yearly lurnout of 15 to 20 lakh tourists.
Taking ihis into consideration. Mono Rail should start from Koradi and join Mahadula-Zingabai Takli-Mankapur-PagalkhanaChowk-RBI Square-Chhairapati Squarc-Besa-Beltarodi-Hudkeshwar-Kharbi. Copies of both the memorandums have submitted to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. Divisional Commissioner. District Collector. NIT Chairman, and Mayor.
