Yug's death: Candle march in Delhi today
TO CONDEMN the brutal murder of 8-year-old Yug Chandak, thousands of doctors and those from dental care fraternity will participate in candle march and condolence meet to be held on Saturday, September 13 at Jantar Manlar in New Delhi. Demonstration will also be held between 10 am and 12 noon to condemn the incident and for demand of stern actiongainst the culprits.
Dr Abhay Gocnka from Shegaon. who is co-ordinaior for the march, stated that they want government attention on the incident and also spread awareness among people so that such incidents could be avert-ed. "We are demanding that the accused should be tried in fast track coun and that the case should be treated as 'rarest of the rare'.
It may be noted that World Denial Conference organised by Federal Dental International is on at Greater Noida till September 14. Around 1.500 delegates from 135 countries are participating in the conference and they all are also likely to participate in the protest.
According to Gocnka, friends and colleagues of grief-stricken Chandak family arc also likely to auendliie demonstration. Dr Sajini Bansal from Delhi and Dr Hardik Patel from US along with others are making preparations for the event. vug's granuiainer Kiiman Chandak is a native of Arjuni Morgaon in Gondia district and many members of Chandak family still reside there. There is a simmering anger among people over the killing of Yug and they want capital punishment for the culprits in the case.
