Forest officials arrest four for hunting 20 black-hooded oriole birds


FOREST Department arrested four persons for allegedly killing 20 black-hooded oriole birds and seized country-made pistol from them. The arrest action was executed near Nandgaon Khandeshwar Petrol Pump on Thursday.
Mohansingh Kankarsingh Thakur (65). Vijaykumar Mohansingh Chitodiya (36), Rajkumar Mohansingh Thakur (25) and Jitendrasingh Mohansingh Thakur (30) are the names of the arrested accused.
According to the information, P K Lakade. Wadali Forest Circle Officer along with other employees from the circle acting on the tip off. laid a trap near Petrol Pump on Thursday afternoon.
The squad arrested Mohansingh Thakur. Vijaykumar Chitodiya. Rajkumar Thakur and Jitendra Thakur red-handedly while scpa rating feathers of the 20 birds from their carcasses after hunting them.
Employees seized all the 20 hunted birds and also arrested the accused. Employees also seized a country -made pistol and a trap used to catch peacock from the accused.
Forest Department has booked all the accused under Wildlife Act and are investigating further in the incident.
The arrest action was executed by DU Khawale. V R Barabde. P D Darwhekar. Nilesh Tarwade. M P Thakur. S B Tarhekar and Subhash Gavai. all the Forest Department employees under the leadership of P K Lakade.
