IN an unfortunate incident three girls drowned in a farm pond on Sunday afternoon. The girls had gone to celebrate Friendship Day near Risod on Malegaon road in Gawali's farm. They reached Gawali's farm at 11 am and first they started playing under a tree and when they got tired in the afternoon they went near the pond and started playing near the pond. After some time when they were enjoying the water in the pond somehow they slipped and drowned in the pond. All the girls were students of Class-IX in B h a r a t Secondary amt Higher Secondary School here. The names of the girls are Shivani Gajanan Salegaonkar ( 14). Pradnya Vilas More (14) and Aishwarya al as Nanu Gancsh Gawal i (14). All the girls were residents of Risod town. As per reports, as there was moss and slush in die pond and the girls could not conic out and drowned in the pond. Meanwhile, a farmer came to Gawali's farm at 3 pm to look at the storage in the pond. When Sunil Gawali was showing the pond to the farmer he found some fool wear, goggles and other material lying on the banks of the pond. As he became doubtful he searched in the pond and was shocked to find the three girls floating in the water. He immediately took them out of the water and rushed them to Rural Hospital where the doctors declared them dead after checkup. The pond is 44x44 square feet and the water level was above 22 feet.
