Hirwai's seminar on kitchen garden today
H1RWAI has been working with the school children for the last 7 years in the form of the Hirwai Green Finger and Green School Competition. As an extension to this activity, Hirwai is going to organize a series of seminars related to various environment issues all the year round.
The first among these is being oprganised in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro on August 9 at Toubro office at Shankar Nagar opposite Wockhardt Hospital. The interaclive session will be based on the topic "How to Develop a Kitchen Garden in the Rainy Season. The seminar will start at 3 p.m. and will be addressed by B N Patil. an expert in Horticulture. He is going 10 provide a presentation and guidance regarding the variety of vegetables to be grown in the rainy season, preparation of soil, importance of those particular vegetables in context of the season, classification of different vegetables, the insects and pests that infest the plants in this sea SOD and also how to cultivate the vegetables in the kitchen garden. Following the presentation would be an interactive session with the expert.The seminar is open for all and free of charge for the Hirwai teacher members. But the non-members will have to pay fees.
