Wipe out blot of illiteracy from country: Bhagyashree Atram
ZILLA Parishad Presiclem Bhagyashrce Atram has called upon the people to wipe out the blot of illiteracy from county and make it a nation of the most educated people. She was speaking at the International Literacy Day organised by the Continuinous Education Department at Shivaji High School here the other day.
Dadaji Chafle, Joint Secretary of Shivaji Shikshan Mandal. presided over the function while Jayant Bhilkar. Principal of Shivaji Junior College, and Surekha Barsagade. social worker, were prominently present. Atram further said over 30 per cent people of the district are still illiterate. They have to depend on others while taking the benefit of Government schemes and in other malters also. This is not good. Every person should be educated. If every person teaches another man this illiteracy can he removed easily.
Challe said collective efforts are needed to be made for removing the illiteracy. The teachers, students and social workers should shoulder this responsibility, he appealed.
Attheoutset NilcshPatil. District Continuous Education Officer made an introductory speech and gave the details of the programme. Dilip Urkude conducted the programme and Karamarkar. Deputy Education Officer, proposed a vote of thanks. A large number of students, teachers and women attended the programme.
